Valenta Carter, a native of Temple, Texas, graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas State University-San Marcos with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Following Texas State, Dr. Carter attended University of Houston College of Optometry where she earned her Doctorate of Optometry.
During her collegiate training, Dr. Carter participated in hands-on internships that specialized in ocular pathologies. She provided ocular care to Cherokee and Pueblo Native Americans at Northeastern State University College of Optometry satellite health clinics in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and at the Santa Fe Indian Hospital in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
After providing eye care with several premium health care professionals around Texas, Dr. Carter is excited to open her own practice and join the TSO network. “I will continue providing patients with premium vision care through the use of the latest cutting-edge technology that allows for precise prescriptions and high-quality lenses”, Dr. Carter said.
Dr. Carter is licensed by the Texas Optometry Board as a Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometic Glaucoma Specialist. She is also board certified by the American Board of Optometry. She specializes in comprehensive ocular examinations, contact lens evaluations, diabetic ocular health assessments, co-manages refractive and cataract surgeries, and diagnose and treat various ocular pathologies.
She is a member of the American Optometric Association, Texas Optometric Association, and the National Optometric Association. She cherish building relationships in her local community and is a proud graduate of Leadership Richardson Class XXXV.
Dr. Carter is committed to providing customized care for each patient because maximizing their vision is paramount to her.
